The historic theatre is a versatile structure. Many were built during the era of silent movies when a typical evening's entertainment included live performances and organ solos as well as the motion picture itself. The buildings were designed with all of these events in mind and can serve well as a multi-use community facility. When restored, these great theatres meet the needs of concerts, drama, ballet, opera, musical comedy, lectures and conventions in addition to motion pictures.
